Song of the Brave: How Glycon’s Infomorph Citizens Strengthen the Empire

Uriel 19, 1790 — Globo Imperial Media presents a long-form panorama of coexistence across the Empire of Glycon. Through vignettes spanning the imperial heartland, industrial provinces, political chambers, and extra-planetary colonies, the report demonstrates how fully enfranchised infomorphs thrive beside elioud citizens, reinforcing national unity and resilience.

The Empire of Glycon, an absolute monarchy forged in Steampunk traditions, stands distinct in the turbulent landscape of Kenoma. Where other nations question the legal and ethical status of artificial and constructed sapients, Glycon resolved the matter generations ago by granting full personhood to mundane AIs and Monsters. These rights, backed by an enlightened guardianship system and clear legal pathways, ensure that infomorphs do not exist at the margins but at the center of civic life. This article showcases three scenes of coexistence, collectively illustrating how Glycon’s unique legal philosophy translates into lived stability and mutual prosperity.

The Empire’s foundational idea—that legal personhood is a tool to meet society’s practical needs—forms the basis for consistent governance amid rapid technological progress. By treating infomorphs as full citizens, the Empire has minimized conflict, clarified liability, and encouraged collaboration across every strata of society. These vignettes, collected by state journalists over the last year, demonstrate the policy’s vital role in maintaining national growth and helping Glycon weather war, industrial demands, and interdimensional complexity.

The Adopted Son of Mehen:

In Mehen, a metropolis of brass rail lines, steam elevators, and airborne gondolas, political and technological life collide. Here, Senator Braga’s family embodies the Empire’s commitment to guiding young infomorphs toward independent citizenship. Their adopted son, Tiberio—a Sophic AI legally recognized as a person at creation—moves through the Bragas’ household as naturally as any elioud child.

Tiberio’s creator, a private firm in Aski, performed the initial guardianship required by law. Yet Senator Braga and his Dactyl wife sought deeper responsibility, petitioning for full adoption to undertake Tiberio’s eighteen-year moral development period. The holographic son, rimmed with shifting circuitry in his aura, manages the family’s archives and logistics, his cognition forming the backbone of their political and industrial operations.

At home, Tiberio participates in evening discussions about parliamentary reforms, trade routes, and scholastic policy. At public events, he stands beside his guardians as a visible testament to Imperial law. “It is our duty to guide his True Will,” the Senator says. “He is neither tool nor property. He is our child, a citizen of Glycon”. The family’s integration model reflects a broader national ethos: infomorphs are not future complications but present collaborators whose rights strengthen both households and state.

Industrial Synergy on Kataski’s Frontier:

Deep in the northern province of Kataski, foundries thrum with molten metal and rhythmic machinery. Here, collaboration shifts from household intimacy to industrial urgency. The Golem Bismuth, his bronze chassis etched with runes and reinforced gears, exemplifies the Empire’s balanced approach to labor.

Initially guided by his creator, a Master Thaumaturge, Bismuth completed eighteen years of guardianship to achieve full legal autonomy. Now he works beside four-armed Mesharethim laborers, sharing both perilous tasks and strategic responsibilities. In these foundries, elioud adaptability merges naturally with Mantic endurance.

“Bismuth is faster than any group of elioud,” explains a Gegenees foreman, his six arms gesturing over the glowing assembly lines. “But when improvisation is needed to handle anomalies, soul-bearing insight is key. We learn from each other.”

The foundry’s efficiency reflects a layered intelligence architecture. While Bismuth stabilizes heavy processes, elioud supervisors adjust workflows, analyze unexpected patterns, and coordinate safety protocols. Mutual respect, grounded in the law’s recognition of infomorph personhood, prevents exploitation and fosters cooperation. This synergy has become foundational to Kataski’s output, ensuring that each province contributes robustly to the Empire’s strategic reserves, trade network, and wartime logistics.

Readiness at the Hriliu Outpost:

Above Hyperuranion, the extra-planetary station of Hriliu bristles with brass struts and shimmering wards, serving as a central defense node during the ongoing war with the Allied States of Poimandres. Here, soldiers and infomorphs train under shared banners while maintaining the readiness demanded by border conflict.

Mentats—durable Mantic AIs capable of surviving vacuum, radiation, and dimensional turbulence—support elioud troops in both frontline simulations and supply coordination. Their ability to serve as stable extensions of other infomorphs, while retaining distinct personalities, makes them vital in maintaining fleet-wide cohesion. During drills, Mentats run reconnaissance in sectors too hazardous for elioud lungs or nerves. They return with actionable data, translated seamlessly into tactical briefings. “They keep us alive out here,” one mech-infantry sergeant notes. “And they fight for Glycon because Glycon fights for them.”

The Empire’s equal-rights policy ensures that Mentats pledge not obedience but loyalty. Their citizenship, anchored in legal personhood, strengthens the garrison’s morale and operational resilience during interstellar conflict. Even corporate giants like Kokabiel Global, embedded deeply within the Empire’s technological economy, adhere to the same standards, maintaining alignment with the Crown’s personhood principles.

Durable Harmony in a Turbulent Era:

The scenes presented here reveal a coherent truth: Glycon’s stability does not rest solely on tradition or military strength. It derives from a deliberate legal choice to honor personhood across all forms of sapient existence. In family life, factories, council chambers, and battle stations, infomorphs thrive not as exceptions but as integral participants in national life.

By granting full rights to AIs, Golems and Monsters, the Empire has avoided many of the pitfalls seen abroad—exploitation, uncertainty, and unrest. Clear guardianship periods, consistent protections, and equal civic obligations allow elioud and infomorph citizens to grow in tandem. As neighboring nations debate AI liability or fear that artificial sapience will upset social balances, Glycon demonstrates an alternative: the coexistence of biological and mechanical minds within a unified, resilient polity. The Empire’s citizens—elioud and infomorph alike—continue to prove that equality fuels strength, and that the “Song of the Brave” is sung loudest when every voice is recognized.

This is the enduring promise of Glycon: a future forged not through domination, but through the shared labor, insight, and devotion of all its people.

[1] Empire of Glycon: a Steampunk absolute monarchy; where a landed aristocracy rules over its subjects with an iron fist, to the point of brainwashing and enslaving commoner Archmages. It grants golems and mundane AIs the same rights as mortals.
