Kenoma's Spiritual Divide: Unpacking the Titanic, Divine, and Diabolic Religions

Welcome to the Kenomitian Universe, a sprawling narrative setting that masterfully blends science fiction, dark fantasy, and urban fantasy. Within this universe, sapient species with bestial appearances thrive, advanced science coexists with black magic, and powerful entities like Demigods, Titans, Deities, and Devils actively shape reality. “The Kenomitian Universe Volume VI: Kenomitian Religions” by H.A. Matos serves as a crucial guide to understanding the diverse faiths of the planet Kenoma and the profound connection between its mortal inhabitants and the Supernal realm.

This volume delves into the intricate tapestry of Kenomitian faiths, revealing how various religious practices serve and reflect the wills of higher powers. The religions are broadly categorized into three distinct groups, each aligned with a specific type of Supernal being:

The Three Pillars of Kenomitian Faith

1. Titanic: Servants of the Asuras.

These religions are dedicated to enacting the wills of the Asuras in the material world. Their inspirations are incredibly diverse, often drawing from real-world mythologies and philosophical traditions, but with unique Kenomitian twists.

Daoism, for example, is inspired by Taoism and Confucianism, integrating cybernetic and biological augmentations as a form of “Internal Alchemy,” and worships Ubbo-Sathla. Its followers, known as Daoists or Ubboists, operate across various nations including the People’s Republic of Zalgo and the Favored Dominion of Atlantis.

The Mammonite Movement is deeply rooted in theocratic corporatocracy and money worship, with corporate hierarchy seen as a holy caste system. Inspired by cults of Mammon and Thelema, it worships Nyarlathotep and holds immense sway in corporate paradises and various empires.

Te Ara draws inspiration from Australian and Māori Mythology, incorporating elements of Techno-Shamanism, and its followers, the Ara’ii or Azathi, worship Azathoth.

2. Divine: Hosts of the Devas

These faiths serve as the enactors of the Devas’ wills in the material world. Like their Titanic counterparts, they feature a rich blend of inspirations.

Altifani is inspired by Sunni Islam, Qadariyah, and Sufism, with its adherents (Altifanists/Cthugans) worshipping Cthugha. Its influence spans across caliphates, principalities, and corporate paradises.

The Vitalist Church merges elements of the Catholic Church with transcendentalism through biological augmentations, and a unique focus on pain worship and martyrdom cultures. Its followers, Vitalists or Yiggians, worship Yig and are widespread across many nations.

Forn Siðr (Ironfolk/Ithaquans) is inspired by Norse, Baltic, and Slavic mythologies, Germanic Neopaganism, and Rodnovery, alongside Cyber-Paganism. They worship Ithaqua and are prominent in areas like the Coalition of Thulean Jarls.

3. Diabolic: Hordes of the Daityas

These religions act as the enforcers of the Daityas’ wills in the material world. They often present a darker, more destructive side of faith.

Kyomu no Yume, for example, is inspired by groups like Peoples Temple and Heaven’s Gate, incorporating suicide advocacy and the concept of releasing Atma-energy. Its followers, the Enders or Zaganians, worship Zagan.

The River of Worms is a chilling faith centered on plague worship, the fetishization of disease and decomposition, and even bioterrorism, drawing inspiration from Aghori practices and anti-vaxxer movements. Its followers, Vermicites or Beelzebites, worship Beelzebub.

Consorts of the Fire Bull are devoted to the worship of Moloch, inspired by pyromania, drought, and Abrahamic heresies, alongside Punic religion. They are active in various kalifates and corporate entities.

The Voice of the Supernal: Pontifices and the Inquisition

Guiding these diverse Supernal religions are the Pontifices, who serve as the “voice of the Supernal”. The most exalted title among these leaders is the Atik Yomin, who is considered the living embodiment of the covenant between the Supernal and the elioud (sapient beings). The Kenomitian Atik Yomin resides in the temple complex of Enthymēsis on the moon Thelesis and holds a unique position as the “owner” of the nation known as the Favored Dominion of Atlantis.

An essential arm of the Atik Yomin’s authority is the Inquisition. This powerful entity functions as a vast army and intelligence agency. Its primary responsibilities include hunting heretics, demons, and Diabolic religions, as well as monitoring the Ehyeh—heraldic beasts that appear during Theophanies. Theophanies are momentous events, classified as Dragon Dances, Angel Showers, or Pandemonia, during which a Titan, Deity, or Devil manifests on Kenoma, typically coinciding with periods of great turmoil, historical breakthroughs, or even mass extinctions.

“Kenomitian Religions” provides an in-depth exploration of how faith and the Supernal deeply intertwine with every aspect of life on Kenoma, from geopolitics to daily existence, showcasing a universe where the divine, the titanic, and the diabolic are ever-present forces.
