The Stagnant Tide: Abbā də Rabbūṯā’s Relentless Push Meets Unyielding Resistance

Cebrail 8, 1790 – Across the Kenomitian Eastern Hemisphere, the seemingly unstoppable advance of the Confederation of Abbā də Rabbūṯā [1] has encountered a stubborn stalemate. Despite multi-front offensives into the Nousian Kingdom [2] and the People’s Republic of Zalgo [3], the Steelpunk nomads’ war machine is mired in grueling, attritional combat, threatening to undermine their expansionist doctrine.

For generations, the Confederation of Abbā də Rabbūṯā has operated under a chilling doctrine: “always at war against foreign nations, never with each other.” This philosophy has fueled a relentless outward push, transforming the Rabbutan Confederacy into a formidable Steelpunk Neofeudal power. Their society, a patchwork of nomadic tribes, mobile city-states, and sedentary khanates, thrives on conquest, seeking new hunting grounds and resources across Kenoma’s diverse landscapes.

This inherent expansionism has ignited the ongoing Rabbūta–Nousian–Zalgian Wars, a fundamental clash of incompatible worldviews. The nomadic, aggressively traditionalist philosophy of Abbā də Rabbūṯā stands in stark opposition to the entrenched, theocratic spirituality of the Nousian Kingdom—the “Roof of the World”—and the rigid, technologically-driven bureaucracy of the People’s Republic of Zalgo—the “Red Bastion.” Recent brutal incursions by the Rabbutan forces threatened to overrun sacred Nousian sites and vital Zalgian aerial territories, but the anticipated rapid victory has not materialized.

Beyond the written words, the story unfolds:

The current phase of the Rabbūta–Nousian–Zalgian Wars began with a multi-pronged assault, designed to exploit the perceived weaknesses of the settled nations. Rabbutan Partzufim warlords, commanding legions of Steelpunk war machines and aerial Asrestar swarms, launched concerted attacks. In the Nousian Kingdom, their forces aimed for the high mountain passes of the Kunlun Range, with sacred sites like Shambhala and Mount Kailash as strategic objectives. Simultaneously, the Confederacy intensified its assault on Zalgian territories, particularly targeting the strategically vital Zhang Guolao flying landmasses, which hover precariously over critical supply routes and industrial zones.

Initial reports indicated significant Rabbutan momentum, yet the expected breakthroughs have failed to materialize. In the treacherous Nousian mountain ranges, the Rabbutan mobile Waxsh Zindag city-states, typically effective as forward operating bases, have found their mobility severely hampered by the extreme altitude and unpredictable terrain. Nousian golem legions, renowned for their resilience and intimate knowledge of the mountainous environment, have successfully channeled the invaders into chokepoints. Brainwashed Partzufim “secret weapons” of the Nousian Kingdom, strategically deployed and leveraging their profound connection to the land, have inflicted heavy casualties through targeted magical strikes and ambushes. The result is a grinding, attritional conflict in the Prajñā prefecture, with neither side able to achieve a decisive advantage.

On the Zalgian front, the conflict for control of the Zhang Guolao flying landmasses has devolved into a costly aerial battle. Abbā də Rabbūṯā’s Asrestar swarms, typically a devastating force, have met their match against Zalgo’s state-controlled magic-users and the highly organized People’s Liberation Army of Zalgo. The Zalgian Dieselpunk industrial capacity has proven crucial, enabling rapid deployment of specialized anti-air defenses and fortified positions on the floating islands. The Guo Long Warrior Order, disciplined and effective, has excelled in close-quarters combat against Rabbutan boarding parties from Waxsh Zindag vessels. While critical engagements continue, the Rabbutan forces have been unable to establish a firm foothold, turning what was intended as a swift conquest into a prolonged struggle for aerial supremacy.

Beyond territorial gain, the war is fueled by profound ideological contradictions that are now being weaponized in the public discourse. Abbā də Rabbūṯā’s neofeudal freedom and warrior ethos clash sharply with Nousian theocratic rigidity and spiritual purity, centered on Kaeerism. Meanwhile, Zalgian Communist collectivism and industrial might, underpinned by their Daoist worship of the Titan Ubbo-Sathla, present another stark contrast to the Rabbutan way of life.

Zalgian and Nousian state media have increasingly focused on the religious motivations of the invaders, particularly accusing a hidden faction within Abbā də Rabbūṯā of worshipping Belial, the Deviless of Conflict. An excerpt from a recent Nousian Royal Scroll read: “The horde, driven by an insatiable hunger for discord, betrays the very tenets of life by invoking the Deviless Belial. Their war is not merely for land, but for the corruption of the soul itself.” Similarly, a Zalgian Party communique, disseminated through public loudspeakers in Dijing, declared: “While the Rabbutan leadership outwardly espouses the Lore of Light, their brutal methods and unyielding pursuit of chaos reveal the insidious influence of Belial, the embodiment of their destructive desires. We, the people, resist not just an invasion, but an unholy heresy.” These accusations aim to delegitimize the Rabbutan cause and galvanize their own populace, adding a sinister, spiritual dimension to the conflict.

Reports from the Prajñā prefecture speak to the brutal reality of the high-altitude conflict. A Nousian veteran, identified only as Kelsang, recounted from a field hospital, “Their Steelpunk machines groan through the snow, but our golems hold the passes. We have faced the storms of the mountains for millennia; their machines break where our spirit does not.” His voice, though weary, carried the conviction of his people’s spiritual resilience.

On the Zalgian front, a ground crew technician named Ling, working near a heavily contested Zhang Guolao flying landmass, provided a stark assessment: “We push back their Waxsh Zindag with everything we have. The sky rains down fire and splintered metal. These floating islands are our homes, our factories—they will not fall easily.” Her words, broadcast via state-sanctioned channels, underscored the People’s Republic’s determination and industrial might. These testimonies, though filtered through national narratives, highlight the fierce resistance and the personal toll of the protracted war.

The protracted nature of the war is having significant immediate consequences. For Abbā də Rabbūṯā, the stagnation strains their logistical networks, which are designed for rapid, decisive conquests, not prolonged sieges. The constant need for resources to fuel their Steelpunk war machines and maintain their mobile city-states in hostile terrain is putting unprecedented pressure on their decentralized supply chains. Furthermore, the casualties among their Partzufim warlords and elite Sod are mounting, a significant blow to a society that integrates its magic-users directly into military leadership.

Conversely, the Nousian Kingdom and the People’s Republic of Zalgo, while suffering their own losses, are demonstrating unexpected resilience. Nous’s defensive capabilities, honed by centuries of isolation and spiritual discipline, are proving more formidable than the Rabbutan Confederacy anticipated. Zalgo’s immense industrial output, typically channeled into economic expansion, has been fully mobilized for war, allowing for the continuous production of Dieselpunk weaponry, reinforcements, and the strategic reconstruction of damaged infrastructure. The conflict, once seen as an inevitable Rabbutan triumph, has settled into a costly, grinding deadlock, with no clear end in sight. The Eastern Hemisphere watches, as the relentless tide of Abbā də Rabbūṯā finds itself unable to break the unyielding resolve of its neighbors.

Notes extracted from the Kenomitian Compendium

[1] The Confederation of Abbā də Rabbūṯā binds sedentary khanates, mobile city‑states, nomadic tribes, and Asrestar giant‑hornet nests in a Steelpunk Central/Inner Asia; they fight foreign foes relentlessly, never one another. It is a neofeudal polity with many official languages; Anda (Mongolian) serves as lingua franca, the Andaic script is standard, and the capital is Aashir Mudabbir (Baotou, China). It holds extra‑planetary colonies on Hypsiphrone and Horos plus extra‑dimensional outposts. Pardes Laws (by state) integrate castes: Peshat/Remez/Derash are citizens; Sod are channeled into military careers; Partzufim (incl. Nephilim) rise to political/military/religious/occult elites; Emmakha are generally treated as Sod; slavery legality varies. Property/rites: cryptids–homunculi–golems–familiars are mage property; AIs and uplifted tlavati belong to creators; epimorphism only on slaves/POWs; necromancy permitted on slaves (exorcisms only on free); psychomancy/telegnosis allowed on slaves/POWs but banned on free (except recording magic and empathy); megacorp extraterritoriality (Hadit, Hoor‑paar‑kraat, Hurtaly, Ankh‑ef‑en‑Khonsu, Mendes, YEQON); hot wars with Sabaoth, Nous, Gaotu, Zalgo, Horaios; Economic-Military Ranking Rank: 20; flag red with golden square; anthem “Song of the Horde.”

[2] The Nousian Kingdom is a clock‑punk theocratic monarchy modeled on Tibet and Bhutan, a network of monastic autonomous zones amid the world’s densest monsters and temporal anomalies; capital Shambhala (Lhasa, China). Official language: Fu Hsa (Tibetan) using Moryan scripts; off‑world colonies on Báb, ‘Ālam‑i dharr, and Horos plus extra‑dimensional outposts. Pardes/caste praxis: Peshat–Remez–Derash are citizens; Sod must follow native faiths and may be conscripted into military/scientific/state/LE/black‑ops roles; Partzufim (incl. Drakes/Archangels) are surgically re‑identified “secret weapons”; Cambions face the death penalty. Property & penalties: cryptids/ homunculi/golems/familiars are mage property; monsters have full personhood; epimorphism only as legal punishment; mundane AIs and uplifted/parasapient tlavati belong to creators/owners. Bans & wars: necromancy on elioud is illegal (exorcisms allowed); psychomancy/telegnosis only as punishment while recording magic/empathy are always legal; Emmakha treated as Sod; slavery abolished except serfdom; no megacorp extraterritoriality (Hadit, Aiwass, Hurtaly, Pantagruel, Ankh‑ef‑en‑Khonsu present); hot war vs. Abbā də Rabbūṯā while resisting Zalgian invasion; Economic-Military Ranking Rank: 22; flag purple with crossed golden vajras; anthem “Song of the Kaee‑Sir.”

[3] The People’s Republic of Zalgo, a dieselpunk China–Vietnam–Zoë hybrid, is a communist panopticon ruled by Bezaliel, a “brain-eating” AI golem. Xaoh (Mandarin) in Simplified Cathayan is official; capital Dijing in Sige. Holds colonies on Hayyi Rabbi, Uthras, Horos, plus extra-dimensional outposts. Pardes Laws stratify citizens—Peshat carry chips, ANANIEL AR, kill-switches; Remez invisible augs; Derash visible; Sod therian shells; Partzufim non-therian and brainwashed; Emmakha classed Peshat; Cambions executed; epimorphism used punitively. Slavery “abolished” yet camps persist. Megacorp extraterritoriality denied; Thelemic firms present. At war with Abbā də Rabbūṯā, invading Nous; disputes Iao; trade war Asbeel; cold war Paraplex. Economic-Military Ranking: 6.
